Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Foundation Lead to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and build a strong financial foundation for the business. This role will manage financial reporting, month-end close, and cash flow, while also driving budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Bill.com, payroll systems, and financial planning tools, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment where accuracy, efficiency, and proactive problem-solving are key.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
Accounts Receivable (AR) & Accounts Payable (AP)
- Oversee invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payables and receivables.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
Payroll Management
- Administer payroll using modern payroll systems (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, ADP, Paychex).
- Ensure compliance with tax, labor laws, and internal payroll controls.
Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into business performance.
- Partner with leadership to build budgets and monitor execution against plan.
Cash Flow & Financial Analysis
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity on a regular basis.
- Provide actionable financial insights to support decision-making.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, local tax regulations, and internal financial controls.
- Support audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Build light SOPs for key workflows to strengthen financial operations.
- Identify gaps in processes and recommend improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience (preferably in small- to mid-sized businesses).
- Proficiency in:
- QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Bill.com
- Payroll systems (Rippling, Gusto, ADP, or Paychex)
- Advanced Excel (data analysis, financial modeling, forecasting
- Experience with FP&A tools for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to adapt to Pacific Time Zone (PST) with at least 5–6 hours of overlap (primarily evenings).
- Based in Latin America.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in professional services, technology, or growth-stage businesses.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification (preferred but not required).
