At Crest IT Resources LLC, we support client teams with end-to-end SAP Finance (SAP FICO) operations, from day-to-day functional support to continuous service improvements. In this role, we work closely with the client’s functional consultant to capture and refine business requirements, ensuring they translate into accurate SAP Finance configuration and reliable financial processing. You will handle user-reported tickets, investigate root causes, and drive timely resolutions. You’ll also support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, help validate integrations across SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, PS, and others), and contribute to process documentation and knowledge base updates so recurring issues are reduced over time. Where applicable, you will participate in regression testing for patches and upgrades to keep SAP FICO stable and compliant.

What we’ll do with you

We will expect you to operate as an SAP FICO functional support and implementation-adjacent resource, partnering with the client’s functional consultant and internal stakeholders. 

  • Engage with the client’s functional consultant to capture, clarify, and document functional and business requirements.
  • Handle tickets raised by end users: analyze issues, identify root causes, and provide timely, accurate resolutions.
  • Work closely with a Junior Functional Consultant (mentor/guide as needed) and take accountability for the deliverables you oversee.
  • Validate and troubleshoot financial postings, reconciliations, and integration points with other SAP modules such as MM, SD, PP, PS, and related components.
  • Support finance teams during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring correct configuration behavior and smooth execution.
  • Implement configuration changes in SAP FICO without requiring a full project cycle (e.g., GL accounts, cost centers, tax codes), following change management and governance standards.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data: correct inconsistencies, resolve reporting mismatches, and address audit-related needs.
  • Prepare functional specifications, maintain process documents, and update a knowledge base for recurring issues and known solutions.
  • Support regression testing when patches or upgrades are applied to the SAP system, confirming expected FICO behavior.
  • Propose process optimizations, automation ideas, and reporting enhancements based on recurring ticket patterns and observed operational gaps.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for an SAP FICO Functional Consultant who can combine strong functional finance knowledge with practical SAP configuration and support experience. 

  • Experience supporting SAP Finance (SAP FICO) functional processes, including troubleshooting and operational issue resolution.
  • Hands-on ability to review and validate financial postings, reconciliations, and cross-module integration impacts (MM, SD, PP, PS, and others).
  • Experience supporting month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing activities or working closely with finance teams during critical periods.
  • Comfort making configuration changes in SAP FICO settings such as GL accounts, cost centers, and tax codes, while ensuring data correctness and process compliance.
  • Understanding of audit support expectations: accuracy, traceability, and consistent functional behavior.
  • Ability to write functional specifications, maintain process documentation, and keep a structured knowledge base for recurring issues.
  • Experience participating in regression testing for SAP patches/upgrades, with attention to functional outcomes and expected results.
  • Analytical mindset to investigate issues end-to-end, propose root cause explanations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Soft skills: strong communication with business stakeholders and end users, ownership of deliverables, and a coaching/mentoring attitude toward junior team members.
  • Preferred: SAP FICO certification.
  • Plus: Experience with SAP S/4HANA.

Nice to have

  • SAP S/4HANA functional experience in finance or reporting-related workflows.
  • Prior experience supporting integrations affecting financial postings and reconciliation outcomes across SAP modules.
  • Exposure to change management practices (ticket-to-change traceability, approvals, and controlled deployments).
  • Experience building or improving finance-related reporting and lightweight automation based on recurring support findings.
  • Familiarity with regression testing planning and test case creation for functional areas.
